In Assassin, you must protect a specific unit and kill as many of the enemy's protected units as you can. In those games the player wants to control as many flags (or balls in the case of captures) by the end of the game as they can. There is also capture the flag and body count, as well as unique games such as territories and captures. In King of the Hill, the player who spends the most time on the flag during the game is the winner. This often ends with the ball being in a remote corner or stuck on water, and an unpredictable battle for the ball will ensue by the armies. In "Steal the Bacon", the rules would be the same as Last Man on the Hill, except a movable ball is used as the flag. For instance, in the game "Last Man on the Hill", a flag will be placed in the center of the map, and the last person standing on the flag when the game time limit is up is the winner (if two or more players are on the flag at the end, it is "contested" and there is sudden death until a winner is determined). There are a number of game types to play online, each with a different set of rules and strategy required to win. The reflexes and focus required in this game are absolutely unparalleled in any strategy game even to this day. The multiplayer is bafflingly fun, difficult, and literally impossible to master. The single player can be slow and notoriously difficult and is only recommended to familiarize yourself with the basics and revisit when your skills are honed. The physics with arrows and flaming bottles as well as hills, trees, water and other environmental challenges are at the very core of the gameplay, often being the most important factor in each game. This makes each and every unit very precious, as it is not able to be replaced by just building another one like in other RTS games. Each player in that game begins with the same amount of points, so each army differs from player to player. Instead of getting resources like other games, a player is given a set amount of points to trade for his army at the beginning of each multiplayer game. It is a top-down(-ish, more like 3/4 view) real-time-tactical/strategy game that takes place in a fantasy medieval world. The physics are so impressive and the gameplay is unbelievably unique, there really is nothing like it. The game begins with Alric, one of the Nine sorcerers, waking to a red-eyed crow after having a nightmare recalling his experience in the Great War. The story picks up sixty years after TFL and tells the story of Soulblighter, one of the Fallen Lords. Bungie greatly expanded the campaign, multiplayer, and modding capabilities as well as adding other quality of life features to the game's UI. Originally released on December 28th, 1998 for Windows and Mac OS, Myth II greatly improved on the formula established by the first game.
